⚠︎ Please note, in Merinio, an absence request is considered as unplanned, unlike time-off requests which are planned.

  • Employees must connect to the platform and create an absence request

  • Merinio will save the information for you and warn you of potential schedule conflicts

  • You will receive an email notification instantly when their request is created

  • Go to Merinio or click on the shortcut button in the email

1. Click on Attendances

2. Find the request(s) you are interested in by using the filters

You can filter by name or type of employee, date or location. To see all available filters, click on the ? to the right of the filter field, next to the diskette.

3. You can now change the status of the application by clicking Acknowledge or click the down arrow for more options. Approval of the request will email the employee if the employee has enabled email notifications.

There are several request statuses to help you keep accurate information in the employee file. Meaning of statuses :

Acknowledged: You've seen the application

Justified: The request has been duly justified

Unjustified: Explanation or supporting documentation was not provided

Refused: Confirms that the application will not be approved.

Cancelled: Actually, the employee was not absent.

If the absence request is denied, you can always approve it later by clicking on the right arrow and selecting Acknowledge, the button will change from red to green.

4. It is also possible to create an absence for your employee by clicking on Presence in the left column and then on Create an attendance

  • Select the employee in the Employee field

  • Select the shift for which the employee(s) will be absent

  • Choose the status of the application

  • Select the type of absence request

  • Select the reason for the absence

  • It is possible to add a comment and/or one or several files to the query

  • Click Save to save the information.

Edit an attendance

From the Attendances menu, click on Actions for the user for whom you wish to edit the attendance.

A window will appear in which you can choose to Edit.

This action takes you back to the same window as the attendance creation.

Deleting an attendance

From the Attendances menu, click on Actions for the user for whom you wish to delete the attendance.

A window will appear in which you can choose to Delete.

  • PS: If you don't have the Delete option, it may be because it's blocked. Ask your Administrator if you want to unblock it.

A new window will open. Click on Delete the request to confirm deletion.

! BE CAREFUL ! : This action is definitive, you won't be able to go back once the request has been deleted.
